Care That Fits Around Your Loved One

Every person who moves to Lime Tree Court brings their own story, their own likes and dislikes, their own routines and their own rituals that matter to them. We take the time to learn about all of those unique qualities.

Then we build a care plan around those unique qualities so it's perfect for them not the other way around.

Specialist Dementia Care

Watching someone you love live with dementia is hard but knowing they are in the right place makes it a little easier.

We have been caring for people with dementia for over 40 years. Our team understands how to create a calm, familiar environment where your loved one can feel safe and settled. We use visual aids, memory triggers and gentle daily routines to help each person feel at ease.

Our resident pets, including one cat and a French bulldog, bring real comfort to the people who live here. And we work closely with local GPs, district nurses and hospitals to make sure your loved one always has the right support around them.

What Life Looks Like Here

Homely

This is not a medical facility. It is a home. When your loved one moves in, we work hard to make sure it feels that way. Familiar faces, familiar routines and a building that has warmth and soul rather than the clinical feel of many newer care homes.

"Our residents do not live in the staff's workspace. The staff work in the residents' home."

Personal

We do not believe in one-size-fits-all care. Every person who lives here is different, and their care reflects that.

We take time to understand who each resident is, what they need and what makes them comfortable. We work with your family every step of the way. Because getting this right matters.

Friendly and Caring

Lime Tree Court has been a welcoming, close-knit home for over 40 years. You will feel that the moment you walk through the door.

We are a home full of familiar faces, laughter and open doors. Our staff are not just colleagues. They are part of the family. And when your loved one moves in, they join the family too.

Tranquil

Some places just feel right the moment you arrive. Lime Tree Court is one of them.

Tucked away at the end of a quiet lane beside the village church in Twyford, the home is surrounded by wisteria, roses and a beautiful enclosed garden. Inside, there are quiet corners, two comfortable lounges and 16 private bedrooms. It is a genuinely lovely place to live.

Dementia

Living well with dementia is possible. The right environment makes all the difference.

Lime Tree Court has been doing this for over 40 years. Our team knows how to create the right daily routine, the right level of gentle stimulation and the right balance of calm. Your loved one will be in experienced, caring hands.

Activities

There is always something going on at Lime Tree Court. And nothing is ever forced.

Our activities coordinator runs a full programme of events including chair exercises, arts and crafts, music sessions and visits from the local school. We celebrate seasonal events, enjoy regular trips to the village shop and even have a Shetland Pony regularly visiting our residents. Life here is full and fun.

About Us

Lime Tree Court has been caring for people in Twyford since 1980. That is over 40 years of early mornings, late nights and everything in between. Four decades of learning what it truly means to look after someone.

We are not a large care group. We do not manage dozens of homes across the country. Lime Tree Court is one home, run by people who care deeply about what happens inside it. Every resident gets our full attention. Every family gets our full commitment.

The home sits at the heart of a small Buckinghamshire village, and that setting shapes everything about how we work. Life here is quiet, unhurried and personal. We know every resident by name. We know what they like for breakfast, which television programmes they enjoy and what makes them smile on a difficult day.

That level of care is only possible when a home stays small. We intend to keep it that way.

FAQs

What is the food like?

Lime Tree Court provides a choice of nutritious home-cooked food every day. This includes seasonal fruit and vegetables. We have designed a four week rolling menu that caters for all our residents' favourite food choices and meals.

We are able to tailor individual preferences as well as provide appropriate meals to meet different dietary needs. Staff always accompany the residents at mealtimes to provide the relevant support with eating and drinking. Residents are encouraged to drink and eat regular snacks throughout the day. Fresh fruit and healthy drinks as well as delicious cakes and biscuits are also on offer.

Will the doctor still visit me if I live in the home?

Yes. We have the support of a local GP practice in Steeple Claydon who are happy to visit our residents within the home as required.

Do you provide services such as chiropody, dentistry, opticians or physiotherapy?

Yes. Our chiropodist visits residents every eight weeks in the home. We have an optician who visits the home annually or as needed. Physiotherapy can be either arranged through the GP or organised privately as needed. We are happy for them to visit the home.

When can I have visitors?

Lime Tree Court  has an 'open door' policy. You are welcome to receive visitors at any reasonable time. If you plan to have visitors after 10.00pm at night, we politely ask that you notify a member of staff so we are aware.

What about my laundry?

We have an on-site laundry room, and our staff will do your laundry for you. We ask you to label all your clothes clearly to ensure they are returned to you on a daily basis. We also suggest you do not bring delicate clothing or articles that need dry cleaning as we do not have the facilities to deal with these.

Will there be nurses on duty?

No. We are a residential care home, which means we do not employ nurses. However, we can provide for a wide range of complex needs and disabilities, and we do have access to District Nursing services as required.

Is there privacy/areas to entertain visitors?

Yes. We aim to provide residents with as much privacy as possible. As well as their own spacious private rooms, residents can use the spacious communal lounge, which overlooks the garden. We are always happy to provide you with extra chairs and refreshments as needed.

Do you have a lift?

We have a stair lift, but due to the nature and age of the building we do not have a lift.

What activities are available?

We have a full in-house personalised activities programme including armchair exercise routines, arts and crafts, music sessions and even a visiting zoo and church visits. We have a summer party, Christmas party, celebrate sporting events, royal weddings, and regularly discuss current affairs and historic events using dementia friendly tools and aids.

Do you offer respite care and day care?

Lime Tree Court is able to offer day care and respite care on occasions subject to availability. Please contact us for more details.

Do you provide hairdressing services?

Yes. Our hairdresser visits weekly.

How many residents are there in the home?

We are registered for 23 people, but we limit ourselves to a maximum of 19 permanent residents.

May I bring my own furniture?

Yes. We actively encourage you to furnish your room/s as you wish, subject to any safety requirements. We supply all large items of furniture such as wardrobes, beds and chest of drawers (if required) and are happy for you to bring your own favourite items.

What about my valuables?

For safety, we recommend that valuables are looked after by your family, solicitor or bank. If you do bring them into the home, we advise you to take out personal insurance as we are unable to take responsibility for valuable items. We encourage residents to keep money in a bank or building society account rather than in the home.
